A Cup Of Autumn by Melissa McClone

Synopsis:

He thought he had the perfect plan…

When elite university professor Keaton Andrews walks into a meeting with the dean, he expects to hear that his tenure application is on track. Instead, his beloved department is cut. Regrouping in Silver Falls with family seems like his best option. One morning, he takes a risk and orders a pumpkin spice latte from the beautiful barista at the local coffee shop. Too bad she doesn’t seem to find him nearly as intriguing as he finds her…

Raine Hanover is no longer swayed by a charming smile, especially by a nerdy—and distractingly handsome—academic. She’s taking a break from romance and focusing on running her increasingly busy coffee shop. But when Raine is involuntarily put in charge of organizing the town’s Halloween bash, Keaton jumps in to help, and it’s not long before sparks, and kisses, fly.

As the leaves begin to fall, Raine wonders if she should risk taking another chance on happily ever after, especially with a man who has dreams and goals so far away from Silver Falls and her.

Review:

If you want to breathe some Autumn air you need to read A Cup Of Autumn right now.
It was a nice, sweet read with good main characters and lovely supporting characters.

Keaton Andrews has almost reached his dream to become a Professor at the renowned university where he worked as an assistant professore the last few years, until the Dean makes him redundant because his department got cut. He decides to reach his brother and sister in Silver Falls to regroup and to find another job.
Raine Hanover is the proud owner of the best coffee shop in Silver Falls, Tea Leaves and Coffee Beans is a success but she is overwhelmed by work because she is short staffed. She is at her limit when the shop owner association chooses her to organise the town Halloween bash, fortunately Keaton volunteer to help her.
They begin to see each other often to talk about the event and more, so they know each other better and an easy friendship blooms. Will their friendship become somthing more? Or they won't have time to understand their true feelings?

Raine and Keaton are two worlds apart, a friendly shop owner the first and an opinionated professor the latter, but they have the same drive to make their dreams come true.
I adored how they go over the feel they are not each other ideal type still giving themselves a chance to get better acquainted and to find a good and unexpected connection.

Melissa McClone has such a way to wtite small towns sweet tales I get so invested into them I'd like to visit those places and to meed those characters because they seem so real.

This is the third book in the Silver Falls interconnected stories but it could be read as a standalone.
