Gaming Hell Christmas: Volume 2 by Amanda McCabe, Kathy L. Wheeler

Synopsis:

The Thief Who Stole Christmas - Amanda McCabe
A man who has never broken the rules, and a woman who just might break his heart! But Christmas is always a time for second chances...

As one of Miss Greensley's Girls, a member of the exclusive club la Sous Rose, and famous author Lady L, Victoria Lanford moves easily through Society ballrooms. Few people know how her unhappy childhood and anxiety led her to pickpocketing (yet, she did return the jewels)! When she comes face-to-face with old flame Rhys Neville, Earl of Hammond, she knows the kind-hearted, straight-laced, devilishly handsome lord is not for her—especially once the past comes back to haunt them. Why, then, can't she stop thinking about their kisses?

The Kerse Who Saved Christmas - Kathy L Wheeler
Kerse: He, of the no nonsense approach, is stymied by She, a woman considered long past prime marriageability who needs a keeper more than he requires a wife. Yet the dreamy-eyed, impractical, and much too optimistic Philomena still manages to steal his heart despite her unrealistic beliefs and trust in fortune tellers.

Review:

Amanda McCabe and Kathy L. Wheeler are back publishing two new interconnected novellas in the Gaming Hell Christmas Volume 2 book. We are back following this group of badass heroines who are always there for each other through good times and bad.

The Thief Who Stole Christmas by Amanda McCabe

Rhys Neville was Victoria Lanford only friend when she went to live with his uncle and her two deplorable cousins, he understands her and he puts her at ease, but when she was sent at school they lose touch. Now years later they meet again, their complicity is still evident, but there's only a little problem on the path for their happiness, Rhys is courted by Victoria's two cousins.
I loved Victoria, I appreciated her strenghth but also her vulnerability. She is a great character that stole a piece of my heart. Rhys is a good and lovable man, he has eyes only for Victoria since a young age, and now that they have been reunited he won't lose her again.

The Kerse Who Saved Christmas by Kathy L. Wheeler

Lady Philomena is the quietest, more posed of the Staunton twin sisters. She believes she is too old for marriage, and that she is almost invisible for the opposite sex, but she hasn't noticed that the Viscount Kerse doesn't let her out of his sight.
Philomena is naive, at times guillable, but she is really kind and she is always there for her friends. The Viscount Kers looks gruff and surly but he letterally melts for Philomena, I loved to see that.

I'm already looking forward to next volume, to meet these characters again.
