Icebreaker by Kat Mizera & Elise Faber

Synopsis:

She hates me…

I’m going to make her fall in love with me anyway.

As captain of the SoCal Vipers, the last couple of seasons haven’t been going well. My stats are slipping, and I’m at risk of being traded.

So, I’m not in the mood for a case of mistaken identity with the woman playing bouncer at the arena door.

But when I find out she’s come to town to escape her controlling family and make a fresh start, I know I can’t just let her walk away.

I’ll do anything to make sure she’s safe.

And if that means claiming her forever…then all the better.

Because she’s mine.

Even if she doesn’t know it yet.

When the Game Breakers meet more than hearts will be broken…

They’ll claim, protect, and...maybe just rock their women's worlds.

Review:

Icebreaker is a good read.
Kat Mizera and Elise Faber has skillfully written a story with deep emotions and some humour.

This is Aspen and Banks' story. Aspen ran from her family that never respected her, and now she is in Southern California trying to survive alone making various jobs. She meets Banks, a famous hockey player, but she doesn't recognize him and their first encounter is hilarious, but that's enough to spark an interest in each other.

I liked Aspen, she is strong and independent. She deserved some happiness and I was so glad she found someone who cares about her a lot, and a new family in Banks and his friends, because hers was awful. Banks was the best of men, so patient and sympathetic, until he wasn't for a bit because his fears made him act like a prick. Fortunately with some help he understands his mistakes and redeemed himself.

I'm looking forward to read more by this author duo.
