Waylaid by Sarina Bowen

Release Date: 07.20.2021

It’s a tale as old as time: the bad boy meets the good girl. He makes a daring proposition. Then the boy gets a mysterious head injury and loses a year of his life…

The first time I meet Rickie, I don’t know what to make of him. The second time we meet, he doesn’t remember the six hours we spent together. Or standing me up afterward.

I’m not the same, either. I’ve got secrets. I’ve told lies. Bad boys aren’t my type, anyway. Even the ones with seductive gray eyes.

But now we’re roommates. Cue the awkward moments in the hallway when he’s wearing only a towel and a smile. He’s determined to win me over, and his talented hands weaken my resolve.

It’s all fun and games until my past rears its ugly head and his secrets come to light, shaking our fragile connection, maybe even breaking it…

Note: this is Daphne Shipley's story. Contents include Vermonty ice cream flavors, nerdy awkwardness, tattoos, and a playboy grandpa.

Waylaid is a beautiful story.
Sarina Bowen can still surprise me with her elaborate plots, always unique and heartfelt.

Rickie Ralls, Dylan Shipley's housemate, accepted to become a farm helper during the Summer but he didn't have signed up to fall under Daphne's , Dylan's twin sister, spell. It seems like they already met in a previous life and even if Daphne tries to reasist to Rickie's charm she is destined to succumb to the strong physical attraction they feel for each other.

I instantly fell in love with Rickie, he is funny, sweet, hot but also vulnerable and I wanted to protect him at all costs and maybe fight the evils in his life. It took me some time to understand Daphne but in the end she is a woman who suffered by a man's hand so she is cautious but when she trusts someone and she lets everything go you can see her beauty.
I really liked to see their bonding grow chapter after chapter, it isn't forced, you can practically feel them falling for each other and wish them a very happily ever after.

Rickie and Daphne were meant to be, they will always have a soft spot in my heart.

My Greatest Mistake by T. Gephart

Release Date: 07.10.2021

Love isn’t fated.
And anything revealed by a sideshow fortune teller about soulmates is also bogus.
But when the same unique name is called over the loudspeaker at a hospital years later, even a skeptic like Zara can’t fight the curiosity.
And when he turns out to be a witty, good-looking, intelligent and successful lawyer, a girl might rethink her stance.
But is he everything he claims to be? Or is he too good to be true?
Crazy attraction and an undeniable connection make for a lethal combination.
And he is either her ultimate true love or her greatest mistake.

Zara Mathews and Lincoln Archer are two hardworking lawyers, they meet thanks to fate and even if neither of them are looking for a relationship they can't get over their first encounter. They keep meeting each other and keep engaging in skirmishes, like the good lawyers they are, they have a great phisical chemistry and a strong attraction. Will they give their relationship a chance or will their days together are numbered?

I adore Zara, I admire her strength and her determination but also her love for her little sister. Lincoln is a very nice man that i wish I could have met in real life, his friendliness and courtesy is disarming and I've understood since the beginning that Zara wouldn't have had any chance other than falling for him. Their relationship was funny and intriguing, it grew chapter after chapter even if their attraction was evident from the beginning.

My Greatest Mistake was a well written, well thought romantic story that I've enjoyed and read pretty quickly.
I recommend it if you need a laugh and a happy time.

Broken Hearts by Rebecca Jenshak

Release Date: 07.13.2021

She’s a figure skater. He’s a hockey player. Things are about to heat up on the ice.

Rhett Rauthruss is single for the first time in six years. He’s fresh off a long-term, long-distance relationship and ready to make the most of what’s left of college.
Party with his boys, get to the Frozen Four with his team, and maybe play the field for a change.

Sienna Hale knows a thing or two about heartbreak. She’s a college athlete about to skate for the last time, and nothing is going to throw her off course. Not her worries about finding a job after college, not the whispers of last year’s accident on the ice, and not the cute hockey player who keeps asking her out.

They think they want different things, but when it heats up between them, there's no denying they have something in common--even if it's just for a night.

Broken Hearts is one of the most beautiful story that Rebecca Jenshak has written to time.
Such a fine wording, a good plot with funny and heavy topics perfectly blended, and a cute and hot romance between the main characters.

Rhett is a hockey player and newly single but it seems like he can't adapt at his new dating life because he was in a relationship for so long he forgot how to flirt. Sienna is a figure skating, she hasn't a dating life because she has spent her college years working hard on the ice. One night they fall into each other and from that point on they hardly can stay away from each other.

Rhett and Sienna journey was an emotional rollercoaster as we follow them through their first not so friendly encounter on the ice (what a better place for a figure skater and a hockey player), to the blossom of a deeper feeling, to their insecurities and fears, to the hardest hurdle that life puts on their way, till their well deserved happy ending.

They are both good characters, but together they become perfect. Sienna and Rhett are strong, sweet, loyal and they pour everything they have into their sports. I loved to know better Rhett and to find out he is one of the good men, and Sienna has pleasantly surprised me with her maturity.

This was an amazing experience, I recommend to read it and I'm sure these characters will steal your heart.
