Synopsis: A workplace crush is supposed to be light-hearted. Frivolous, even. Just some daydream inspiration to make the hours go faster, or to fill in twenty boring minutes. Sam isn’t ready to develop actual feelings for someone. Not with Logan still looming so large in her heart, and especially not when the subject of her infatuation is her new employer. Alex doesn’t plan to fall in love ever again. Not after what happened with Victoria. But fate seems determined to begin an unwanted love story, and a tentative romance blossoms as Alex and Sam battle the malicious sabotage of a rival company. That is, until Alex’s cruel ex-wife re-enters his life, threatening to take custody of their daughter. Sam’s determination to help the desperate man stand up for himself brings the two would-be lovers closer, but Victoria’s antics only highlight to Alex the dangers of leaving himself vulnerable. Can Sam convince him to set aside eleven years of stanch celibacy and give into his feelings? And jus...

Home for Christmas by Camilla Isley

Synopsis: Would you share a bed with your enemy to save Christmas? Down with a bad case of writer’s block, Riven has escaped to a mountain cabin for a prolonged writing retreat. The last thing he needs this Christmas is for his family to invade his sanctuary away from LA. What he needs even less is for a family of strangers as large and boisterous as his own to also be stuck in the same house after a double-booking disaster. Especially when he ends up having to share a bunk bed with Wendy—a gorgeous, feisty New Yorker who quickly learns how to get under his skin. Sharing a room with her is sweet torture and Riven isn’t even sure what he dreads more: that every passing day brings them closer to saying goodbye or that they have yet another night to spend together… Review: Home for Christmas is a very funny, slow burn rom com. This winter story set in a snowy little town in Utah was so entertaining that it brought me some warm and cheereness. The Nicholses need a change of scenery f...

Yet as his daughter flourishes, so, too, does the intense connection between Lydia and Alasdair. Only she should know better than to fall for the handsome laird when it could leave her without a job, or a home… Review: Catherine Tinley wrote a well paced and engaging story set on a remote and picturesque scottish island. The characters are extremely likeable and enjoyable. I liked the islanders camaraderie, their strong sense of family and their overlooking of the ton high society rules. When Lydia loses her umpteenth job in London, she accepts to be the governess for a little girl with some healthy issues on one of The Hebrides island, Scotland. After a long trip she arrives on the island and she immediatly understands that it won't be easy to be accepeted by the L...

But when disaster strikes and he offers her refuge, she must reconsider everything about this vexing, determined man. After the heartbreak in her past, it’s a revelation to feel her pulse racing and her body yearning for his touch… Review: The Earl's Inconvenient Houseguest was another great read, set at the Regency time, written by one of my favourite author of the genre. Virginia Heath crafted a very interesting story, a perfect blend of fun, hot and heartwarming writing, with an amazing group of characters. Now that there is a new Lord of the manor Whittleston-on-the-water inhabitants fear for their future. They think they will lose their houses and their peace when Lord Hockley sell all his new acquired lands. Sophie Gilbert leads the resistance of the villagers against the ...

Charming Texas Cowboy by Teri Anne Stanley

Immagine
Synopsis: Lifestyle influencer Jen Green is determined to turn her life around on her own. She absolutely doesn't need help from the handsome cowboy veteran at the ranch next door… After inadvertently flashing her boobs to the whole internet, Jen Green is attempting to outwait her notoriety by homesteading in Chance County, Texas. She doesn't want—though she might just need—help from the cowboy army veteran who lives down the road. Review: Charming Texas Cowboy is the third book in this series but it could be read as a standalone like I did, but now I want to read the previous books because I'm curious about the other couples and I was enthralled by Teri Anne Stanley writing. Jen leaves her youtube show because she doesn't like the new director's choices, she gets to Chance County to show herself she can do it on her own, and to show her audience how to make a homestead. Tanner is a wounded veteran, he has some physical wounds and some soul wounds that still hurt....
