Never Bet a Duke was absolutely delightful.
It is part of a series of interconnected novels, but it could be read as a standalone.
It was such a pleasure to see the Duke of Roxburghe, one of the most eligible bachelor of the ton, brought to his knees by the beautiful Miss Nora Webb. Their infatuation grows between wagers and deceits that will keep the reader interest from start to end.
Nora and Merritt are two humorous and clever characters. My favourite is Nora, she is kind and lovely, but also cunning and vengeful with the people that deserve it. Merritt is curt and broody with everyone other than with Nora. He shows the protective and sweet side of his character just to her. They belonged together, the spice and the physical attraction confirm their perfect harmony.
I highly recommend to read it because Alyssa Drake wrote such a vibrant, intriguing and suspenseful story.
